Alzheimer's Support is developing a new Understanding Dementia workshop to help people find out more about what is can be like to live with dementia.

The free, hour-long sessions are designed to help anyone find out more about what someone living with dementia might be experiencing and how they can help - as a relative, friend, or neighbour.

The session has been developed by Alzheimer's Support's Trainer and Volunteer Manager Annie Clayton who has more than a decade of experience supporting people to understand more about dementia. Her first session was delivered in Salisbury during Dementia Action Week and more than 20 people took part.

Annie said: "It was great to have such an engaged group of people who all had different experiences of dementia. We shared a lot and learned from each other. As it's a new programme we will now revise and tweak it a little bit so I want to thank everyone who took part for helping to shape this."
