Be remembered with a Gift in your Will

If you are considering leaving a Gift in your Will to Alzheimer's Support, thank you.

First things first. It is important to look after your family. Once you have taken care of your loved ones, any gift you leave to Alzheimer's Support - no matter how small - will help us care for families affected by dementia in Wiltshire for years to come.  Even a 1% gift can make a great difference to our work into the future.

How your Gift can help

Beryl, whose bequest helped AlzheimerLegacies have a direct effect on the care and support we can provide. In 2018, two unexpected bequests enabled us to expand our community services, opening new activity groups for support and companionship.

And in 2020, a large legacy from our dear friend and supporter Beryl Gover, pictured right, enabled Alzheimer's Support to weather the storm of the Covid-19 pandemic. Without her gift arriving at exactly the right time, we would not have been able to survive in our current form and continue with our plans for the future - it is as simple as that. Beryl, who supported our work after we cared for her husband, would have been thrilled to know the difference she had been to make.

Help the good work to continue

More people are being diagnosed with dementia every day. Demand for our own services rose by 20 per cent in the past year and we would love to open more day clubs, more community groups and offer more of the one-to-one support that makes all the difference to people living with dementia and their families.

Your Gift will help secure the future support - practical, local and loving - that Alzheimer's Support does best.

Alzheimer's Support is a wonderful organisation providing care and to both those living with dementia and their carers. Our mother was sadly diagnosed with Alzheimer's and the assistance to both our father and the whole family to cope was so greatly valued and needed. This is why I am leaving a Gift in my Will to Alzheimer's Support. It is an organisation truly worthy of support

Making your Will

Leaving a legacy to Alzheimer's Support or to any other is more straightforward than you might imagine. You can do it when you first make a Will, or if you already have a Will, you can add a codicil very easily.

Making a Will for the first time doesn't have to be time-consuming and you can even do it online.

It's a good idea to use a solicitor, who can advise about how your wishes can be included and advise on inheritance tax and other issues.

We know this is an important decision so please do not hesitate to contact our dedicated In Memory Giving manager Laura Crouch who will be happy to answer your questions or chat to any member of the family.

Email Laura or call her on 01985 624005.
