Our services Activity groups Muddy Boots outdoors groups Our Muddy Boots groups offer a chance to get outdoors and enjoy nature, gardening, wildlife related craft and, at some groups, interacting with animals. The groups are run in partnership with people who know the countryside best - from farm based projects to social enterprises specialising in community garden projects. Whether it is landscape gardening, working with plants or observing wildlife, everyone takes part at their own pace, and we know that some will prefer to just enjoy being out of doors in the company of others. Most groups have indoor spaces for refreshments and craft activities but all run in all weathers! The groups give people living with dementia and a family carer the opportunity to interact with the natural environment, gain a sense of achievement and make new friends. No experience is needed to take part, although it will be particularly beneficial to people who have enjoyed outdoor work and gardening in the past. The groups are supported by trained volunteers. Refreshments and social time are a key part of the sessions. Please note to help meet costs we charge £4.50 per head 'on the door' (or you can use our Pay what you Can scheme).
