Old Silk Works Club in Warminster has received a donation of more than £3,000 from the local branch of NNF Mutual.

Club members and staff welcomed Rob Maddocks, Agent at NFU Mutual Warminster, the leading rural insurer, who presented a cheque for £3189.50 as part of the NFU Mutual Agency Giving Fund.

Now in its third year, the Agency Giving Fund was set up to help local frontline charities across the country. It is part of NFU Mutual’s £3.25m funding pledge for both local and national charities in 2022 to help tackle the ongoing effects of the pandemic and assist with recovery.

Laura Crouch, community fundraiser at Alzheimer’s Support, said: “We need to raise £300,000 each year through community fundraising. The call from NFU Mutual Warminster to say that they’d nominated us for their local charity donation was an absolute delight.

“This donation from NFU Mutual will provide a valuable contribution to keeping the day club running.”

NFU Mutual Warminster agent, Rob Maddocks visited the Old Silk Works to make the presentation to Laura and her colleague Rachel Fear, and club manager Louise Gover.

Rob said: “It is a really lovely part of our job to be able to make such a positive difference to local charities. Alzheimer’s Support really leapt out as a charity for us to support because of the amazing work that they do both in Warminster and around Wiltshire.

"You never know what tomorrow may bring and to have such a wonderful place available for your loved ones does give you hope and makes you so thankful that there are such amazing facilities here in Warminster.”

“We are hoping that this donation will forge strong relationships between our team and Alzheimer’s Support.”
