Not content with doing a 12-hour danceathon with her family that raised nearly £1,000 for Alzheimer's Support, dementia adviser Claire Mitchell has turned her talents to making and selling Forget-Me-Not rainbows.

Claire has sold more than 80 of the rainbows to friends, colleagues and others. They are priced at £5, but some customers have donated more - bringing her rainbows total to more than £800.

She said: “I know how valuable Alzheimer’s Support’s work is in Wiltshire and how their fundraising and income has been affected by the pandemic. I enjoy sewing and it is a good way to relax after work.

“I’ve got a rainbow production line going on at home. I really like making them and am happy to carry on until lockdown is over.”

Daphne Squire of Bradford on Avon who ordered a rainbow after seeing them in a parish magazine said: “It arrived yesterday and it is lovely. It is hanging in the window and all my neighbours admire it when they go by. I am so pleased to be able to support the charity in this way.”

Another customer Clara Walker said: “We love ours – it’s so jolly! It will hang in our baby’s room when it is born.”
