apetito, the UK’s leading creator and supplier of meals for the health and social care sector, has continued its support of its charity partner by raising over £17,000 over the past 12 months.

The cheque was handed over at the Mill Street Day Club in Trowbridge and was presented to Alzheimer’s Support CEO Babs Harris, who was delighted with the year’s efforts.

She said: “We are thrilled to receive this very generous donation from apetito and want to thank each member of staff who helped to fundraise for us.  Apetito is committed to helping people to live well with dementia and we have seen time again how it encourages employees to not only to raise funds but to spend time in our clubs and groups to see for themselves how their money is spent.  Alzheimer’s Support relies on donations to fund our work in Wiltshire and this will make a real difference to the support we are able to provide. ”

Truly inspiring

Matthew Norton, Director of Corporate Affairs and Public Policy at apetito said; “We work very closely with people affected by this condition and do a lot to help charities that provide support for people with dementia. The work being done by everyone involved at Alzheimer’s Support is truly inspiring, so being able to contribute such a great sum of money is incredibly rewarding. We are delighted to be able to be a part of it.”

The funds were raised by teams from across the business, who arranged an array of activities such as a 1980’s party, raffles and a Spanish-themed Paella event. In the past year, apetito staff have also volunteered to support Alzheimer’s Support events, such as their Family Fun Day, volunteered at the day clubs and have taken part in Dementia Friends information sessions organised by the charity.
