After a little persuasion, which some might call bullying (thank you Aaron), Becky & I have decided to take on Bath Half Marathon in October.

Running does not come easily to either of us. Athleticism has never been my strong suit - just ask my Nan, who will reminisce about coming to watch my primary school sports days in a fit of uncontrollable laughter. And as for Becky, she has that duff ankle to contend with, as well as a life-long battle with time-keeping issues already slowing her down! Ahem.

The upside of this ridiculous endeavour is that we are hoping to raise as much as we can for Alzheimer’s Support, a wonderful Wiltshire-based charity who offer a wide range of vital support to those living with dementia and their family carers.

Dementia devastates. It creeps into peoples lives slowly and silently, disguised as a little forgetfulness here or a little misunderstanding there. Gradually it progresses, stealing memories and altering personality, leaving the sufferer and their loved ones feeling helpless and confused.

Dementia will affect everyone in one way or another. So please donate as much as you can to help Alzheimer’s Support continue the amazing work they do. And you never know, Becky & I may even make it round that course in October without falling over… ok, we definitely won’t, but that’s all the more reason to take pity on us! Siouxsie Pang
