Our main Wildlife Club is run in partnership with Wiltshire Wildlife Trust and gives people with dementia and a family carer the opportunity to explore nature in the beautiful setting of the trust's wetland at Lower Moor Farm near Cricklade. The reserve contains three lakes, woodland and ancient hedgerows.

Activities are planned by nature reserve staff and include walks, wildlife observation and nature-inspired craft, although people can also do their own thing if they would prefer to.

A typical morning involves:

  • refreshments on arrival in the visitors centre
  • an explanation of the week's topic, eg dragonflies
  • an outdoor activity, eg walk, visit to the hide, pond or search for plants or insects
  • a craft session related to the week's theme (indoors or out depending on the weather)
  • a sandwich lunch together

The club meets on the second and fourth Mondays of each month.
