This relaxed and friendly training course for family carers in Wiltshire will be held on Wednesday mornings from 13th July until 17th August.

We'll be meeting online from the comfort of your own home, so you won't need to travel, and we can help you get on to Zoom if you do not have experience of this.

We have been running and adapting this course for many years. It's a great way to find out more about dementia and what the person you care for might be experiencing, and about how to support them while looking after yourself too. Our team of facilitators are all experts in their field and very experienced in running sessions for carers both online and in person. The presentations are informal with plenty of time for questions and discussion.

About the course

The sessions run from 10am to 12pm via Zoom.

Topics include:

 Recent feedback from carers

The course is really good. So much useful information. I have realised that I do some things wrong, but I also do lots of things right which is very comforting. Every person who interacts with someone with dementia should do this course.

I thoroughly recommend this. It was so helpful.
We have appreciated the level of instruction and friendliness in just the first two weeks, so much of what we have already learnt has been of so much help to us and sharing this with our family has gone some way to easing our situation.
Really good to realise that I’m not the only one, and that how I feel is normal.

I expected to learn about the illness and the impact it can have on individuals and their families. The course surpassed expectations because of the amount of practical advice and information shared. It was particularly helpful and reassuring to speak with others, and to hear what they have to say from their own experiences.
