News and events Latest news Support for Memory Shed September 1 2018 Alzheimer’s Support has thanked Jewsons of Devizes for donating timber to its new Memory Shed for people with dementia. Member of the shed, who get together every Wednesday afternoon, have used the timber to build birdboxes and garden planters and create mosaics. The project is run by Kerry Rose of Alzheimer’s Support. He said: “Jewsons have been absolutely fantastic. I can just drop in and take as much wood as we need and then the members can get to work. I have been bowled over by their willingness to support us. I asked around for help but they were the only ones who were able to donate.” James Fielding of Jewsons said: "We are really happy to help out. We know about Alzheimer’s Support’s work in Devizes. The Memory Shed sounds like such a great idea we were pleased to be able to support it in this way." The Memory Shed meets at Brunel Shed in Corsham on Wednesday afternoons. People living with dementia and family carers are supported to work on creative craft projects, retain their skills and make new friends.
