TV chef Peter Vaughan is promising delicious food and an extra special cookery demonstration at a fundraising dinner dance for Alzheimer's Support to mark Chinese New Year on January 31st 2020.

During the event at Devizes Sports Club, Peter will also talk about the fascinating flavours and ingredients to be found in the cuisine of China’s Sichuan province.

“The Chinese New Year is the most important and longest festival in China and they eat some really delicious food,” said Peter. “We know so little of true Chinese food in Wiltshire, most Chinese food sold in restaurants and takeaways is Cantonese made for the British palate. It’s great to come out for dinner, try some new dishes, learn some top chef tips and try food that is really quite incredible.”

All the proceeds from the evening will go towards Alzheimer’s Support. “I felt obliged to help this local charity as any one of us could get dementia,” Peter said.

The evening’s menu will include assorted dim sum and lettuce wraps, aromatic Wiltshire pork with Sichuan pepper, crispy tofu in hoisin sauce and Chinese pineapple apricot cake with mango and lime ice-cream.

As well as the delicious food, guests will also be able to dance the night away to live music from Indecision. The event is sponsored by Mander Duffill.

Tickets for the dinner dance, which starts at 7pm and runs until 11.30pm, are £30 per person or £240 for a table of eight. They include a drink on arrival.

So why not book at table for friends and family and enjoy a brilliant night out in a wonderful cause!
