Wiltshire-based food company apetito has donated £20,000 to Alzheimer’s Support – for the second year in a row.

The money was raised during a year of fundraising for the charity and handed over at the start of A Walk to Remember - the charity's annual fundraiser which was also sponsored by apetito.

Alzheimer’s Support CEO Babs Harris said: “This is an incredible sum of money that will make a significant difference to the support we are able to provide in Wiltshire. We are very grateful to the company for being our corporate partner and so proud of our connection them.

“What we love about the partnership with apetito is that staff are encouraged to find out about us and what we do. Apetito employees are encouraged to volunteer for us and are given time to spend time in our day clubs. That gives them a chance to see at first hand how the money they raise for us is spent, and a real insight into our work.

As well as the £20,000, raised by apetito staff in a series of events, the company helps Alzheimer's Support in practical ways behind the scenes. In January it provided all the food for Alzheimer's Support's annual Gala Dinner for more than 120 people with dementia and carers, and it has helped with poster design and by supplying goodie bags for sponsored events.

Incredibly rewarding

Lisa Hayes, Charity Committee Chair at apetito said: “Everyone is delighted with another fantastic year of support for our charity partner. We work very closely with people affected by this condition, so being able to contribute such a great sum of money is incredibly rewarding.

"The work being done by everyone involved at Alzheimer’s Support is truly inspiring, and we are delighted to be able to add toward it.”
