Saturday 16th May

There are many unknowns with this virus – but one thing we do know is that people with dementia still need our help and support, both now and in the future.

That is why, instead of cancelling our fundraising Walk to Remember in May, we have decided to turn our 30th anniversary walk into a free virtual event!

We would like people to take part in their own home-based fitness challenge on Saturday 16th May.

You can walk laps around your garden or front room, go up and down the stairs, set yourself a target on the exercise bike, treadmill – or do whatever feels like a bit of a keep-fit challenge and a bit of fun.

How to get involved:

  • Sign up for free so we can send you more information by email including printable materials.

  • Plan your home-based challenge – the length, format and duration is completely up to you!

  • Set up a fundraising page on our website or a Facebook fundraiser so your friends and family can sponsor you.

  • Post photos or video to tell people what you are doing and why. Tag us and use the hashtag #VirtualWalktoRemember – or send them to us to post on our channels.

On the day:

  • Watch out for our virtual warm-up on social media.

  • Post more photos or video of your challenge as it unfolds so everyone can see you and cheer you on remotely.

  • Feel connected! Know that you are doing something good!

You can make a difference by taking part on 16th May and raising funds and awareness for people living with dementia and family carers.

Best of all, you will send a clear message that they are not forgotten.
