So, its official, I have now been at Alzheimer's Support for 3 months! Out come the fireworks!

I’ve loved every second so far really getting involved with all areas of fundraising within the charity and getting to know not only my immediate team, aka the fantastic fundraisers, but all of the lovely members of staff across the charity who provide such invaluable support to those with dementia and their friends and family.

I’ve already learnt a huge amount about the condition and met some inspirational people at the day centres and clubs that we run. A few of my most memorable moments so far include:

  1. Playing dominoes for a whole morning and getting beaten many times over by Jim, the resident Chief Inspector at Sidmouth Street Club in Devizes
  2. Getting to eat not one, not two but three slices of cake at the Old Silk Works Club
  3. Getting to play a number of instruments that I have never played before in the Music for the Mind group in Chippenham.

It’s been lovely to be part of such a dedicated and creative fundraising team, who are all very passionate about the charity and the work that it does. We need to find £300,000 a year to fund our services and we are all working very hard at it.

Amazing individuals doing wonderful things

A few of the many jobs that I am currently doing are organising our annual Walk to Remember and Fun Day on 22nd June,  supporting Goughs Solicitors who have chosen us as their charity of the year and supporting all of those amazing individuals who have chosen to do wonderful things to raise money for us. They include Henrietta who has run three marathons and raised £2,222 or Mathew who makes beautiful cards for us to sell . So many exciting things going on.

I am really excited to see what the next three months brings and all the new and interesting fundraising opportunities that may come up…
