Staff rate charity 'excellent' employer

press release - January 18 2012

A Wiltshire charity has recorded high levels of staff satisfaction with 100 per cent saying they thought Alzheimer’s Support was an ‘excellent’ or ‘good’  employer.

Sixty-one per cent of the charity’s 60 staff returned their forms in a recent staff survey.  Of these, 91 per cent said they would recommend working for the charity to their friends.

When asked whether they were given enough training and guidance, 100 per cent either agreed or strongly agreed.  When asked whether ‘my manager listens to me’ 65 per cent strongly agreed and 32 per cent agreed.

Chief executive Anna Littlechild said: “We are very pleased with the results of this survey.  We are very proud of our staff and the work that they do. We knew we had good levels of staff retention, but it is very encouraging to read survey forms with such positive comments and results.”

Alzheimer’s Support has a head office in Trowbridge and another in Devizes and provides practical services for people with dementia who are living at home, and to their family carers.  It is currently recruiting an office manager in Trowbridge and support workers in Westbury.  Tel 01225 776481 or see www.alzheimerswiltshire.org.uk for details
