Wiltshire Council services

Wiltshire Council offers a range of services for people with dementia and their carers.

If you think that you may need help, the starting point is often an Assessment of Needs for the person with dementia and a separate Carer’s Assessment. There is also financial assessment to establish whether you will need to pay for any services you receive.

To arrange assessments, or to find out more about the range of support and eligibility criteria, contact the Adult Care Locality Teams on 0300 456 0111. You can also email customeradvisors@wiltshire.gov.uk

The council also publishes a range of useful factsheets on Adult Care. These can be found at http://www.wiltshire.gov.uk/healthandsocialcare/adultcare.htm

This area of the council's website also contains information on Assessments, Direct Payments, Housing support, and Leisure and Social Activities.

Specific information and help for people with dementia in Wiltshire can be found at www.wiltshire.gov.uk/mentalhealthdementia.htm

The council has produced a useful Handbook for Carers of People with Dementia. It outlines all the services available and has a useful section for your notes at the end. Click here to download a copy.

Alternatively contact the Adult Care Locality Teams on 0300 456 0111 or email customeradvisors@wiltshire.gov.uk to ask for a copy to be posted to you.
