Our Trustees
Janet Dore, Chair
Janet has hands-on experience of both dementia and Alzheimer’s Support Home and Community Support Service. Her mother had dementia and lived with Janet at home: the Home and Community Support Service provided the support to allow her to continue working full-time. Janet is now retired and works tirelessly as a volunteer fundraiser for Alzheimer’s Support. Janet is a trustee and vice chair of Carers Support Wiltshire and volunteers at her local museum. Janet brings analytical skills and knowledge of contracts to the organisation.
Priscilla Bishop, Company Secretary
Priscilla teaches privately at secondary level. Her concern for sufferers of Alzheimer’s disease dates back to when she cared for her mother, who was ill with dementia for some sixteen years, during which time Priscilla received support from Alzheimer’s Support. She has had a strong commitment to volunteering since she worked aged 16 at a school for children with special needs.
She is keen to share her professional skills through her involvement as a Trustee for the benefit of all those who need similar support to that which she and her family received.
Alex Brooks
Alex worked as a service engineer and sales manager for a large ink company specialising in electronics manufacture. He lived and worked in Asia (Hong Kong and Taiwan) before taking voluntary redundancy to become full time carer for his mother, Rosemary.
Sadly Alzheimer's (particularly early onset) has had prevalence within the family going back 3-4 generations. Having witnessed Alzheimer’s in his gran and an uncle as a child, Alex felt it was important to try and help his mum maintain the highest quality of life through the diagnosis process and beyond. As a current carer and Alzheimer’s Support service user Alex can provide 'on the ground' experience that will help insight into problems experienced by carers and sufferers alike. Never one to stand around in the shadows, he brings a willingness for problem solving and a managerial background.

Harry Theobald
Harry worked in the Home and Community Support Service for Alzheimer's Support for 9 years before moving to Salisbury. He supported his parents after his mother was diagnosed with dementia and used Alzheimer’s Support services at that time. Harry is currently working for Mencap as a Relief Support Worker. He volunteers his time to fund raise for other charities, helps with animal husbandry at the Laverstock Community Farm and edits the newsletter for Salisbury Allotments Association.
Eric Windsor
Eric is a retired painter and decorator. His wife Eileen was diagnosed with dementia at the age of 65 and Eric retired early to care for her. For a short time Eileen enjoyed visits from one of our Support Workers to allow Eric to attend our monthly carers group. Sadly Eileen died in 2006. Eric helps out at the monthly Alzheimer café and is always happy to shake a bucket at store collections and other fundraising events. He is a keen walker and is planning a route for the Movement for the Mind group.
